1975 HOLDEN HJ MONARO GTS COUPE – AUTO Introduced in October 1974, the HJ Monaro incorporated a heavy facelift and some model rationalisation. Its front end bore a resemblance to the 1970–1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The 350 V8 engine option and the base Monaro coupé were both discontinued. The Monaro GTS continued to be available as a coupé or sedan with the 253 (4.15Lt) V8 engine, or the optional 308 in (5.0Lt) V8 engine. The Monaro LS coupé also continued within the range, but still with the 3.3-litre six-cylinder engine as its base power unit. 1977 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER HJ45 TRAYTOP – MANUAL Delivered new to it’s first owner by J. & J. Thamm, Toyota agents of Minlaton SA on the 23rd of November 1977. We hold the original service and handbook which tell us the above details and also some of it’s early service history. From these original books, we can confirm this is a very original and matching numbers vehicle. Powered by 4.2 Litre 6 cylinder engine, it produced when new 99.3Kw and 284.2Nm of power and torque, delivered to an AWD system via a 4 speed manual gearbox. Performance wasn’t a Land Cruiser’s forte in the 70’s more their ability to go reliably just about anywhere. However figures at the time of release suggest 0-100kph in 14.3 secs and top speed near 130kph. This beautiful example has undergone a complete restoration by the present owner with his focus on originality. These are his words which describe the journey best of all:- “TOYOTA FJ45 LANDCRUISER SXH 972 This vehicle has been in my ownership for about 30 years, the first 20 years used for everyday work on my farm in the Adelaide Hills. I purchased the vehicle through an Adelaide car dealer who advised me it was the “run around” vehicle for a South Australian Toyota dealership which went into administration around that time. Prior to that the only history we have of the vehicle is in the original delivery/service books issued to the original owner in 1977 and which are included with the vehicle. The vehicle has matching numbers and still has the original dealership decal preserved on the rear window. Since my retirement and sale of the farm my kids encouraged me to retain the vehicle and restore it as my retirement project. This was done over a period of about 9 years with “stop start” approach. It was stripped to the bare chassis and completely rebuilt from the ground up including all mechanicals, body work professionally done with all rust repaired and treated before being painted in its original colour. The trim was professionally done. Once the restoration was completed the vehicle went to a qualified mechanic with many years of experience with Toyota Landcruiser restorations. It was extensively checked to verify all mechanical work was carried out to a high standard and that the vehicle was completely roadworthy. The vehicle has been restored as close as possible to original specifications. Since completion of the restoration about 9 months ago the vehicle has travelled less than 1,000 kms. The vehicle is being sold as I am downsizing my property and there is insufficient room to store the vehicle. A complete photographic history of the strip down and rebuild is available if required along with a folder of all receipts and notations of money spent and a workshop manual.” It is also possible that the SA plates currently on the car are the original ones issued when new. They also may be available if the car is sold to another SA resident. 1985 HOLDEN BROCK VK SS GROUP A SEDAN – MANUAL – RECREATION This example was the subject of a special build by HDT Special Vehicles in 2010 to create a tribute VK Group A SS as a major prize for the Unique Car Magazine during a competition in 2010 and 2011. The final article was published in issue # 320 of Unique Cars detailing the build process under the guidance of HDT General Manager at the time, Darren Gillis. Here are a previous owner’s words on how it all came into his possession. “I followed the build of ‘The Peter Brock Tribute’ as documented in all the issues of ‘Unique Cars Magazine’. I also entered to win it a few times. I obviously wasn’t lucky enough to win it, but I did get the opportunity to buy it when the Lucky Winner decided to put it up for sale 6 months later in 2012. I’d wanted a VK Group A from the time I first laid eyes on one at The Royal Adelaide Car Show in the mid 1980’s. I considered a few genuine Group A’s at the time but I chose to buy this actual car knowing it was fully documented, restored and built by HDT for Unique Cars Magazine. It’s arguably just as good if not better than the original 500 built in 1985. Also the words of Peter Champion who is the current owner of HDT. Basically they built another one 25 years later but ‘The Peter Brock Tribute’. It was a one owner car prior to its transformation in 2010 and has the same running gear as the original Blue Group A’s. ” The car is based on a HDT Improved Police-Spec VK Berlina V8. Presenting in Formula Blue with pale blue fabric interior trim. A comprehensive service was completed in Port Pire in July 2022. The engine is a 4.9 Litre 16V V8 producing 196Kw and 418Nm of power and torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual gearbox. Performance figures suggest 0-100kph in 6.25 secs and a top speed near 225kph. We hold copies of the Unique Car magazine which gives in much greater detail, the back ground to this vehicle. We also have invoices and service history, completed by Morpowa Auto & Dyno of Modbury North SA which included a rebuild of the carburettor and replacing the harmonic balancer tuned on the dyno. A more recent but minor service was completed by AC Delco on the 27th of August 2026 just 500kms ago. This vehicle has had a recent Ceramic coating of the paintwork plus the fitting of a GPS Tracker,  which can be transferred to the new owner. If you are after a VK Group A SS and are concerned about the price they can fetch, here is a beautifully prepared example by HDT and at a much more reasonable price. The current SA plates VK HDT are available if the vehicle is sold to another South Australian resident. Currently on Historic registration in SA, this is not transferable, however the car would be eligible for similar schemes in other jurisdictions, equating to minimal on road costs. 1964 JAGUAR E-TYPE SERIES 1 4.2 ROADSTER – MANUAL – 82,245 MILES SHOWING – (MY65) This E-Type roadster (OTS) has to be one of the best we have ever seen, as it looks like it just rolled off the 1964 Jaguar production line. Presenting in the original Jaguar colour codes of Cream with Red leather trim for this E-Type when new. Note : the red can appear much brighter in some photos than actual. We hold a copy of a letter from Jaguar Cars limited of Browns Lane Coventry dated the 4th of July 1990, confirming a matching numbers car, original colour combination, build date of November 1964 and original delivery to Brysons of Melbourne on the 7th of July 1965 to Mr. J.C. Walsh. Powered by a 4.2 Litre 6 cylinder twin cam engine, it produced when new 198Kw and 385Nm of power and torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual gearbox. Performance figures suggest 0-100kph in 6.7 secs and a top speed near 235kph. The current South Australian owner purchased this car in 1990 and has proceeded to complete the most amazing total restoration with the following details :- 1964 JAGUAR E-TYPE SERIES 1 4.2 ROADSTER Build date – 2nd of November 1964, in the first week of 4.2 production. Car No. 1E1008, the 8th Series 1 4.2 RHD roadster (OTS) Sold new – 7th of July 1965 by Bryson’s of Melbourne to Mr. J.C.
